"Forgetting about our mistakes and our wounds isn't enough to make them disappear"
- Ai Yazawa -
More than eight months ago, the insurgency of the FARC-EP set forth the need for a Commission of Review and Clarification of the Truth about the History of the Internal Conflict in Colombia.
Regarding the most recent release of the National Secretariat of the FARC-EP and the facts behind it, many things have been said. Although we always learn about our actions through the mass media, universal champions of distortion and hoax, we are still quite impressed by the news about the new malicious avalanche against us.
What they are after with eavesdropping
The successive scandals regarding the interception of telephones, emails and other forms of communication used today, want, among other things, to build the idea in the public mind that everything is controlled by power. Somehow, though many people feel their privacy is being violated and express their outrage, they also get adapted to the idea that it is something inexorable and that it is useless to fight against.
Unraveling ideas: War is not as they paint it
State violence will always generate struggle, so it is an essential prerequisite to end it if we want to achieve peace. It's the only way to end the conflict.
The Army of Colombia: a pawn in the CIA's chess game
By Pablo Catatumbo - member of the secretariat of the FARC-EP.
In recent weeks the public opinion has been inundated by major international media revelations about the direct involvement of the US government intelligence community in our internal affairs, with serious implications in the context of the Colombian government's relations with neighboring countries, as well as in the development of the social and armed conflict in Colombia.
Coming up: The discussion on drug-trafficking
The newspaper from Lima "El Comercio", on February 12, 1998, outlined a statement made by the famous US economist Milton Friedman, entitled "Drugs, an unfair war":
"Our drug policy has led to thousands of deaths and enormous loss of wealth in countries like Colombia, Peru and Mexico (...) All because we cannot enforce our laws at home. If we did, there would be no market for imported drugs. (...) The foreign countries would not have to suffer the loss of sovereignty (...) Can any policy be moral if it leads to widespread corruption, imprisons so many, has so racist an effect, destroys our inner cities, wreaks havoc on misguided and vulnerable individuals and brings death and destruction to foreign countries?"
When greeting the Colombian youth present in this scenario, the FARC-People's Army, rather than exalting the sum of qualities that encloses the human soul in this stage of life, would like to highlight the special spiritual situation of the rising generation, characterized by the formation of ethical values ??that will guide your future behavior.
In a popular Colombian radio program with journalist Mar?a Isabel Rueda, there was a debate on the participation of women in the peace process, in which one of the panelists asks: "Why are there women sitting at the Table, if they don't do anything other than smile in front of the cameras?"
The ability to pervert the truth
The ideological domination, taking possession of millions of people to act in compliance with the interests of the masters, acquires vital importance for the ruling classes at this moment. Showing as true what is not and turn the ones who oppose them into monsters, becomes vital for them in order to perpetuate their profits.
