Joint Communique #10

The delegations of the Government and the FARC-EP report that:

In the framework of the discussions on the first item of the Agenda ? Comprehensive Agricultural Development Policy with a territorial focus- an in-depth analysis of the issue regarding land access was discussed, finding rapprochements on the purpose of granting progressive access to land to the highest possible number of landless Colombians or those who own land in an insufficient manner.

As a result of the work carried out by the peace delegations during this round of talks, important progress was achieved in the construction of new agreements on the topics of development programs with a territorial focus, infrastructure and land adaptation, social development (health, education, housing, poverty eradication), and stimuli for agricultural production and solidary and cooperative economy.

Each delegation will study different documents, especially those from the forum on Political Participation recently held in Bogot?, organized by the United Nations Office in Colombia and the Centro de Pensamiento of the National University of Colombia.

Each delegation presented its general view on political participation, starting with the topic of guarantees for exercising opposition as an essential element for the construction of a final agreement that will contribute to lay the foundations for a stable and long-lasting peace and for strengthening democracy.
