There is a global trend by the dominant system of categorizing insurgent movements as criminal business networks, depriving them from their revolutionary essence.
On Saturday July 18, the Peace Delegation of the FARC-EP had a meeting with representatives of the organizations that will verify the unilateral ceasefire, which was ordered today by the insurgency to all its units through a communiqu?. The ceasefire will start on the 20th at 00:00.
With the purpose of:
- Strengthening the confidence of Colombian men and women in the peace process and trust between delegations;
- Expediting the construction of agreements on all remaining aspects of the Agenda of the General Agreement; and
After the intervention of the guarantor countries, Cuba and Norway, and the accompanying countries, Chile and Venezuela, who made an impassioned appeal to the parties at the negotiating table to de-escalate the conflict in order to create a better environment for the talks, head of the Peace Delegation of the FARC, Ivan Marquez, said on Tuesday at the International Congress Center in Havana that:

The resumption of round 38, comandante Pastor Alape, FARC-EP spokesman, spoke Friday on commitments to move towards national reconciliation, the establishment of the truth and full reparation for victims. He recalled that the Peace Talks are a consequence of the fact that there are no winners or losers after more than five decades of armed conflict and today, the two sides are looking for a negotiated solution on an equal basis.

"What happened in Tumaco are undesired consequences": FARC
The FARC-EP expressed concern today about the damage to the ecosystem in Colombia. Comandante Carlos Antonio Lozada stated:

The message sent today by the insurgency to Colombia and the world, through its spokesman and member of the Secretariat Joaqu?n G?mez, was that despite Santos? inconsistencies and distortions, the guerrilla joins the national and international clamor for a bilateral ceasefire.
Outlining the scope of the Truth Commission, rebel leader Pablo Catatumbo stated that this is not a process directed against the FARC, because they are not solely responsible and he called on the State to fully participate.
