The country and the international community clearly remember the handshake between Santos and Timochenko, the day on which we announced to the world that we had achieved a satisfactory agreement on the matter of justice. In line with what had been previously expressed by the Colombian President, this achievement made the process irreversible.

Compatriots and friends of peace in Colombia:
We bring you today, in addition to our fraternal embrace, a report of collective victory: we achieved, with the invaluable help of the Legal Subcommission, to remove many of the obstacles that were making the path of our reconciliation more difficult. We now have a special jurisdiction for peace that, besides ensuring respect for the rights of victims, will be a dynamic factor in the signing of new agreements in this crucial final stretch to reach the end of the conflict.
"It is easy to see that despite such optimism, the Colombian State keeps on equipping and preparing itself for war"
The commander in chief of the FARC-EP, Timoleón Jiménez, through an article published on www.farc-ep.co, has expressed some mayor concerns about the peace process and the decisions and attitudes taken by Juan Manuel Santos? government. Here are some of the most important ideas:
It seems that now we have arrived to the items of victims, justice and end of the conflict, the only viable alternative is to submit ourselves to the discourse of power.
According to President Santos' statement, made during the presentation and acknowledgement of the new commanders of the Army, Air Force and Navy, only during the first five years of his government, 64 leaders of the FARC and some 20 of the ELN have been eliminated, which he qualifies as stunning blows or victories of the official armed forces, without which we would not be sitting at the talks in Havana.

Today, head of the Peace Delegation Iv?n M?rquez read an article written by comandante Timole?n Jim?nez, explaining his thoughts on the latest developments in Colombia and in Havana.
"We are working on the assumption that the government of President Santos is clear about what it is doing, which is not to say that we do not have concerns"
The President uses in a thousand ways the banner of a civilized solution to the armed conflict. He is eager to figure in history as the man who made peace. He even attacks the declared defenders of a military solution. He agreed an Agenda with the insurgency as a starting point for definitive conversations. He boasts about the progress that has been made and he talks about perseverance. He even promotes the post conflict in other countries.
What the Establishment is trying to legitimate is nothing but the absolute reign of arbitrariness in a country that is described as a model.

The justice minister, son of Dr. Reyes Echandía who was slaughtered by the National Army during the retaking of the Palace of Justice in 1985, joins the excitement generated within the ruling classes and their mainstream press, because of the absurd sentencing of militias of the FARC-EP by an Indigenous Assembly in Cauca.
"One would say that the idea is to make the guerrillas disappear to guarantee the broadest possible market for the transnationals"

Last week, visiting Madrid, President Santos benefited from the important role of James Rodr?guez and Carlos Bacca, respectively playing for Real Madrid and Sevilla, speaking of them as an expression of that joyful, prosperous Colombia, with faith in its future. Colombians are now being part of the 'elites of excellence', being the projection of a modern country with growing importance in the world, he stated categorically.
