Countless atrocities and injustices are committed by the Colombian authorities against the civilian population. Here are a few reported cases.
In Caquet? department:
On November 5, 2010, at 5:40 am, in the farm in the village of La Punta, in the region El Yar? (Caquet?), an exchange of gunfire between soldiers of the Sixth Brigade and FARC guerrilla fighters took place.
Report from Havana, August 20, 2014
Iv?n M?rquez said victims made important contribution to the peace process
The FARC said today that the visit of the victims of the conflict in Havana was an "unprecedented event". It also stated that a final peace agreement would have been closer if the participation of ordinary people had been allowed during the previous issues of the Agenda.
Guerrilla fighters of the Joint Command "Ad?n Izquierdo"
We know that these are stories that happen every day against the guerrilla fighters of the FARC-EP and their families, but we want to denounce this publicly.
Seven years ago, we had a baby girl. When we had to define her situation, we decided to send her to a couple, relatives of ours, so they could take care of her. She has received all the care and attention she needs, and also the love she can't receive from us directly, because of the distance.

Communique to Public Opinion
The members of the first delegation of victims who participated in this first meeting, express:
Our commander-in-chief, Timole?n Jim?nez, published an article entitled: ?To win this war, we should make peace?. In the last two paragraphs, he refers to an issue that has received a lot of attention at a national, but also at an international level: the unfortunate death of a two-year-old child in Miranda, Cauca. We reproduce these paragraphs, because we think it is important for people to get aware of the real dimension of the media war that is waged against us.
This is a letter from a Colombian, received by the Peace Delegation of the FARC-EP in Havana.
"What about the widows and orphans of the insurgency? The guerrillas also have people who cry for them, who love them, who remember them fondly and feel the emptiness of not having them anymore."
Iv?n Cepeda, candidate for senate of the Polo Democr?tico Alternativo, and the group of lawyers "Jos? Alvear Restrepo" received an e-mail with the subject: "Retire from politics or you will die, terrorists!"
The government military offensive on the countryside and in cities is spreading the armed conflict all over the country. The permanent use of civilians as a shield by the public forces, makes that innocent citizens are affected in this confrontation.
The leader of the FARC-EP sets out the vision of the guerrilla on the most thorny issue of the negotiations; ie victims. Here is how they prepare for the negotiations.
A few days before finishing my most recent visit to Havana, where I enjoyed a unique World Cup amid Caribbean baseball players and finished a couple of book projects, I contacted Pablo Catatumbo to discuss the next issue on the agenda agreed between the government and the FARC: victims of the conflict. The guerrilla leader did not shirk the issue and we met for breakfast at a hotel in the Cuban capital, some hours before Colombia beat Uruguay in that memorable match that served James Rodr?guez to appear in the history of World Cups.
The FARC-EP in the center and north of the Valle del Cauca department denounces to the public:
As goodwill gestures in the search for peace with social justice and seeking to create a positive environment for the peace talks with the government, the FARC-EP has declared several unilateral ceasefires. The National Army, in contrast, has used our ceasefire to launch military operations in order to annihilate us.
